Knepper and Alzyoud Present Abstracts at AMEE Conference

Lyon, France, August 30, 2022 – Laurie Knepper, MD, department of neurology associate professor, and Lamees Alzyoud, MD, fourth-year neurology resident, recently attended and presented abstracts at the 2022 Association of Medical Education in Europe (AMEE) conference. The conference lasts from August 28 through August 31. The AMEE is a worldwide organization with members in ninety countries on five countries – it aims to promote international excellence in education in the healthcare professions across the spectrum of undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing education.

Dr. Knepper’s abstract was titled, Do formative quizzes promote knowledge assimilation and clinical performance in a Neurology clerkship?

Dr. Alzyoud’s was titled, Do personalized student goals improve educational outcome in a neurology clinical experience?

Dr. Knepper has a continued interest in medical education and currently serves as the Vice Chair of Education, Neurology, at the University of Pittsburgh, as well as the neurology clerkship director; she has mentored numerous neurology residents and medical students and teaches competency-based medical education through presentations at different meetings. Dr. Alzyoud's academic interests include neurology education, curriculum development and global neurology; she is currently pursuing a certificate in medical education through the University of Pittsburgh Institute for Clinical Research Education.
