Biographical Sketch

Marlene Bednar, MD, has joined the UPP Department of Neurology and practices at the UPMC Outpatient Center at Westgate Plaza, affiliated with UPMC Jameson Hospital.

Dr. Bednar earned her medical degree from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara School of Medicine in Guadalajara, Mexico. She completed post-graduate medical studies at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York. Her internship and residency in neurology as well as fellowships in electromyography and pain were completed in University Hospitals of Cleveland and Metro Health Medical Center; she also completed a fellowship in epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology at Cleveland Clinic.

Dr. Bednar is a board-certified neurologist with special interests in clinical neurophysiology, epilepsy, electrodiagnostic medicine, neurodegenerative disease, headache and facial pain, Botox for neurological disorders, general clinical neurology and teleneurology. Additionally, Dr. Bednar is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, American Association of Electrodiagnostic and Neuromuscular Medicine and New York Medical College Alumni Association.
