Brain Aneurysm 5k Set for September 17

Pittsburgh, August 12, 2022 – The 9th Annual Pittsburgh 5K Run/Walk for Brain Aneurysm and AVM Awareness is set for Saturday, September 17 at the Great Lawn of North Shore Riverfront Park, by Acrisure Stadium. This fundraiser will support the Brain Aneurysm Foundation and their efforts to create education and awareness materials. It also provides a safe and supportive way to honor friends, family and survivors while still supporting efforts of the brain aneurysm community in Pittsburgh.

Registration is $30 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under. On-site registration begins at 8 a.m. and the events starts at 10 a.m. The 5K route winds along the Allegheny River and has a beautiful view of the Pittsburgh skyline – individual and team participants are allowed. Register here to participate in the Run/Walk: give.bafound.org/2022Pittsburgh5K. There will also be free pre-race family activities from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. such as lawn games, face painting, informational booths, and a basket raffel - items include an autographed Steelers football, a free night and breakfast for two at The Oaklander Hotel, and more. Raffle funds directly support our local Brain Aneurysm Support Group and provide community and educational opportunities for survivors and their loved ones.

The main mission of the Brain Aneurysm Foundation is raising awareness of the signs, symptoms and risk factors of aneurysms in order to promote early detection and prevent ruptures. They further research that will help improve patient outcomes and save lives while working with medical communities to provide support networks for patients and their families.
