Aaron Ravelo, MD is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurology and a Vascular Neurologist at UPMC Presbyterian. He provides specialized care for patients with cerebrovascular diseases, with expertise in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of both ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes.
Dr. Ravelo plays an active role in medical education, serving as a dedicated mentor to residents, fellows, and physician assistants. He is committed to fostering excellence in stroke training and advancing the next generation of neurologists.
His clinical and research work focuses on acute ischemic stroke treatment, secondary stroke prevention, and intracerebral hemorrhage. His research explores the use of advanced neuroimaging to better understand cerebral physiology and to expand the time window for stroke interventions. He is also interested in the application of artificial intelligence to improve stroke diagnosis, treatment decision-making, and outcomes.
