Alexandra Pope, DO

PGY-1 Resident / Intern

Biographical Sketch
Hi there! My name is Allie Pope and I was born and raised in Pittsburgh! I am proudly a yinzer and love this city for its people and vibrant culture. Pittsburgh offers a little something for everyone, but some of my favorite things to do are spending time attending sporting events, festivals, or concerts downtown with my husband, hiking on local trails with my dog/son Bandit, or kayaking at local parks!

Education/Training
For my fellow Pittsburghers, I grew up in Robinson and went to Montour High School, where I graduated in 2015. I attended Allegheny College in Meadville, PA for undergrad, where I was lucky enough to meet one of our neuro seniors, Zach Iezzi! Between undergrad and medical school at Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, I spent a year pursuing my passion for public/global health, serving with the National Health Corps of Pittsburgh at the Birmingham Free Clinic (one of the best experiences of my life)!

Specialized Areas of Clinical, Research and/or Education Interests
I am very passionate about working with underserved populations and know that is where I am meant to dedicate my time as a practicing neurologist! I find the greatest reward in understanding different cultures to meet people where they are and helping individuals overcome barriers to health care. I love neurology as a whole; it's just that field that "scratches the itch" so I know I will be happy with whatever subspecialty I decide to pursue. At this time, I am particularly interested in general neurology, epilepsy, women's neurology, or neuro-ophthalmology!
