Biographical Sketch

Dr. Pillai is a PGY-3 neurology resident with interests in neurocritical care, stroke and interventional neurology. He is interested in pursuing fellowship in neurocritical care, or interventional neurology. His notable honors/awards include Gold Medals in Internal Medicine and General Surgery and the Institutional Award for Social Services and Volunteering from medical school. He decided to come to UPMC for training because of the incredible volume and diversity in patient population UPMC Presbyterian sees, along with being one of the premier neurointervention centers. His favorite rotation in residency is neurocritical care because of the opportunity to manage diverse, high acuity neurologically complex diseases. His interests outside of work are playing soccer, working out and cooking.
