Vanessa Dwairi, MD

Biographical Sketch

Vanessa Dwairi is a PGY4 Neurology resident and is originally from Lebanon, Beirut. Beginning in 2024, she will be a clinical neurophysiology fellow on the EMG track at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine. She earned her medical degree at the Lebanese American University prior to joining the UPMC Neurology program. She is involved in and passionate about global Neurology in addition to improving health care equity in low socio-economic areas. She is a part of the global health track and is the current coordinator for the Birmingham free Neurology clinic in Pittsburgh. Her notable awards includes the Class of 2020 School of Medicine Service Award for demonstrating exceptional spirit of serving the community. Outside of Neurology, Vanessa enjoys traveling, swimming and binge-watching TV shows. She has lived in 3 different countries and travelled to more than 15 countries.
