Essentials of Training

The University of Pittsburgh Department of Neurology emphasizes excellent clinical training. This starts with careful attention to, and instruction in history taking and the neurological examination. Plans are currently being made for the faculty to carefully observe and document resident histories, physical examinations and case analyses considerably in excess of those required to sit for the certification examination. This will emphasize the point that neurology first and foremost begins with the patient.
